Matt Cummings

 

Matt is an urban agnostic who through his graduate work in Urban Studies and Community Development grew a disdain towards gentrification, the Olympics and urban displacement, and large volumes of cars. Holding an undergraduate degree in Urban and Religious Studies from Johnson University and a Masters in Urban Studies from Eastern University, Matt has taken the theory handed down to him and has been active in nonprofit and community-based work for over a decade that includes after-school education, teaching ESL, and volunteering with Refugees. Through Matt's role at DePauw University as the Director of the Compton Center of Peace and Justice, he actively seeks opportunities to partner with City Lab, most notably through their radio show partnership that takes place once a week. Matt is active in the local and State Democrat party, is a local political candidate, and enjoys cooking vegetarian food.
